چکیده

We study theoretically the cooperative light emission from a system of N ≫ 1 classical oscillators confined within a volume with spatial scale, L, much smaller than the radiation wavelength, λ0 = 2πc/ω0. We assume that the oscillators frequencies are randomly distributed around a central frequency, ω0, with some characteristic width, Ω ≪ ω0. In the absence of disorder, that is Ω = 0, the cooperative emission spectrum is composed of a narrow subradiant peak superimposed on a wide superradiant band. When Ω 6= 0, we demonstrate that if N is large enough, the subradiant peak is not simply broadened by the disorder but rather splits into a system of random narrow peaks. We estimate the spectral width of these peaks as a function of N , L, Ω, and λ0. We also estimate the amplitude of this mesoscopic structure in the emission spectrum.

شبیه سازی اثر بی نظمی و میدان مغناطیسی بر ترابرد کوانتومی نانوساختارهای دو بعدی مدل شده با تقریب تنگابست

In recent years, semiconductor nanostructures have become the model systems of choice for investigation of electrical conduction on short length scales. Quantum transport is studied in a two dimensional electron gas because of the combination of a large Fermi wavelength and large mean free path. In the present work, a numerical method is implemented in order to contribute to the understanding ...

The conductance coefficients of disordered mesoscopic devices with n probes are investigated within the noninteracting electron approximation at zero temperature. The probes are eliminated from the theoretical description at the expense of introducing non-local boundary conditions at the position of the contacts. Conductors with a large number of weak contacts are analyzed in detail. The ensemb...

Disordered Systems in Phase Space

As a function of the disorder strength in a mesoscopic system, the electron dynamics crosses over from the ballistic through the diffusive towards the localized regime. The ballistic and the localized situation correspond to integrable or regular behavior while diffusive conductors correspond to chaotic behavior. The chaotic or regular character of single wave functions can be inferred from pha...

Nonlinear Sigma Model for Disordered Media: Replica Trick for Non-Perturbative Results and Interactions

In these lectures, given at the NATO ASI at Windsor (2001), applications of the replicas nonlinear sigma model to disordered systems are reviewed. A particular attention is given to two sets of issues. First, obtaining non-perturbative results in the replica limit is discussed, using as examples (i) an oscillatory behaviour of the two-level correlation function and (ii) long-tail asymptotes of ...

A novel superconducting glass state in disordered thin films in Clogston limit

A theory of mesoscopic fluctuations in disordered thin superconducting films in a parallel magnetic field is developed. At zero temperature and at a sufficiently strong magnetic field, the superconducting state undergoes a phase transition into a state characterized by superfluid densities of random signs, instead of a spin polarized disordered Fermi liquid phase. Consequently, in this regime, ...
